More than 30,000 Uber employees are set to receive access to ChatGPT Work. The rollout, announced October 22, expands an initial pilot of 1,000 people and makes the platform available across the company’s global workforce.
Teams will be able to research information, analyze data, prepare meeting briefs and create presentations through connections to workplace applications. The deployment includes approved integrations, an internal AI skills library and employee training. Uber’s engineering teams will continue using Codex.
The expansion is a substantial adoption decision. It places an agent platform within reach of operations, finance, marketing and product teams, giving different functions a shared foundation for using AI at work.
Access, however, is the result announced so far. The release provides no company-wide measure of active use, time saved or improvements in output.
AIYXL’s reading: Uber now offers a useful test of enterprise AI beyond a limited pilot. The next evidence to watch is which tasks employees repeatedly entrust to the system—and whether the finished work meets their requirements.
