As artificial intelligence enters enterprises, what changes is not only the tools, but also how work is allocated, what skills employees need to master, and how job adjustments are connected.
According to Xinhua News Agency on October 23, the General Office of the State Council recently issued the "Opinions on Adapting to the Development of Artificial Intelligence Technology and Helping Build an Employment-Friendly Development Model," deploying 18 major tasks across six areas.
New jobs and traditional jobs considered together
The Opinions propose expanding AI employment space in emerging fields, fostering new momentum for small, medium, and micro enterprises to stabilize and expand employment, and accelerating the development of new occupations in the AI field.
At the same time, the document requires tapping the AI employment potential of traditional fields, mitigating the employment substitution impact brought by application, and establishing relevant risk assessment mechanisms. It can thus be seen that the scope of policy attention includes both new jobs added by the AI industry and personnel changes after existing industries adopt AI.
After training, jobs and protection must also follow
Improving workers' digital literacy and employability is a focus of this deployment, including talent cultivation and specialized AI training. The document also proposes increasing support for career transitions and job reassignment, improving the protection of workers' rights and interests under human-machine collaboration, and social security for flexible employment and workers in new forms of employment.
For enterprises and training institutions, this provides a practical perspective for observation: how training content corresponds to real work, and how job responsibilities adjust accordingly after employees learn to use the tools.
The policy has already set the direction. What is worth watching in subsequent implementation is whether training can connect to employment opportunities, whether job transition support can be in place in a timely manner, and how enterprises can balance business improvement and personnel development when adopting AI.
